The Buyer’s First Inspection Is Not At The Front Door!

Methven Latest News 30th July, 2020 No Comments

The last four months have presented many challenges, with each and every one of us having to adapt – working from home, home schooling, social distancing and mandatory face mask wearing in public and at work are just some of the many challenges faced. For real estate, the big notable change has been the cancelling of open for inspections and public auctions. Buyers can still view homes, but it’s by appointment only with just one person able to walk through the home at a time!

Thankfully for the Methven Professionals team it really hasn’t impacted our sales systems or clients to any great extent! Our business has always been based on private buyer appointments and having a large sales team enables us to show a high volume of buyers through a home safely and in accordance with COVID-19 laws.

Recognising that many buyers are reluctant to leave home, we have increased our capability for the remote inspection of our properties, with our listings now having an Online Open for Inspection Video as well as a 3D Virtual Tour available. Managing director Greg Earney stated “we already had our videographer on the team, so with a few quick technology adjustments and adaptation of 3D tools we are now able to, within 24 hours, produce world class videos and 3D tours. These days, the first inspection by a buyer isn’t at the front door, the first inspection is when they view it on their mobile device or desktop!”

These days especially, buyers want as much information and detail regarding a property for sale as they can get. It used to be that having large groups through a home was a positive, but nowadays it is our job to keep people out as much as it is to get people in.
